Bright like you: a new way to share how you see colour.
The starting point
Around 8% of men perceive red and green tones differently (protan or deutan colour blindness). In most cases the diagnosis arrives in childhood — and with it, many questions at home: how does my child really see? Can I understand him better?
Red-green colour blindness has a hereditary component linked to the X chromosome: the mother is often a carrier without knowing it, because standard tests such as Ishihara plates do not reveal it in women with normal colour vision.
The product
Our patent-pending kit brings together three pairs of glasses with chromatically identical red-filter lenses, in three frames designed for three family members: the diagnosed child, the mother and a third family member acting as a reference.
Looking at the same colour plates through the filters, mother and child can come to perceive the same pattern — what we call the empathy pattern — while the reference person perceives a different one.
It lets the family come closer to how the child perceives colour, turning the diagnosis into a shared experience rather than a label.
The experience can offer an indicative signal of whether the mother is a carrier of the trait — something standard tests do not show.
